CoolWebsites: ServiceOntario pilot project at WPL
Finding government information online can be tricky, especially for people who aren't familiar with searching the internet. Well, life just got a little easier if you are looking for information from the government of Ontario. They have recently introduced a new website called ServiceOntario.
The Waterloo Public Library is participating in a pilot project with the government of Ontario to promote the use of ServiceOntario to Waterloo residents. ServiceOntario is a gateway to a wealth of information regarding government programs and services including things like: Applying for a birth certificate, getting your hunting or fishing license, changing your address online, finding information about starting your own small business, getting married, getting divorced, what to do if you lose your wallet, and so much more.
As part of our promotion of ServiceOntario, the library has developed an informative yet fun Scavenger Hunt. This Scavenger Hunt requires an individual to navigate through the ServiceOntario website and answer a total of 15 questions. If you correctly answer the 15 questions and submit your answers to the library by the deadline, you have the opportunity to win 1 of 3 iPod nanos! You can read more about the contest and get a copy of the questions here.
Good luck!!

I thought I knew all about government services online. But exploring the ServiceOntario site has proven me wrong. There is so much information in just one place!
